we're composers

we're most passionate when we're bringing things together: people, ideas, processes. and when we're passionate, we do our best work.

the founding story

there's a well worn path post-law school: (1) pass the bar; and (2) start as an associate at a law firm. i went in a different direction to create a new kind of legal enterprise—one with a conscience.

eleven point river was born out of a belief that the legal field doesn't have to be conventional. my business model challenges the traditional firm by focusing on connection first, knowing business will follow.

advocate:

advocate is from the Latin advocatus "one called to aid (another)." it's not supposed to be antagonistic.

about me

i walked on to my division 1 soccer team after not playing competitive soccer for over 24 months. i thought i wanted the "college experience," and i was ready to focus on life after sport.

then life after sport happened: my grades were worse than they'd ever been. what i thought was the university of my dreams was less than. i was not happy. so i started to work.

i pestered the assistant coach at arkansas state university incessantly to give me a tryout. she finally gave me a shot. i made the most of it. i was the first player ever to get an invitation back to training. the next year, i earned a scholarship: walk-on no more.

division 1 sport gets a lot of attention for being glamorous, and rightfully so. but the most important thing i learned from playing soccer in college was the philosophy of servant leadership: doing the hard things for the team, even at the expense of my own comfort. i try to embody this leadership style daily.

i received my mba and jd from saint louis university.
